Stoke Gabriel colts lost for the first time against Harberton in this U15 league game. Harberton deserved to win in a good spirited game.

Stoke batted first and Ben Stone and Andy Ball put on 21 for the 1^st wicket. Andy was bowled looking for another big hit on12 to the bowling of Chris Newson. Aaron Anderson picked up 2 top order batsman as only Ben made runs. Lloyd Durbin came in, hit his first ball for 4 and was out shortly afterwards. Sam Main hung around for 6 and Declan Hinchcliffe hit a few lusty blows in a bright and breezy 18. However, the Harberton bowlers were on top and Stoke only managed to get to 86-9 from our 20 overs thanks to 15 wides.

Will Hodgson and Christian Buckner shared in a 30 run opening partnership for Harberton which came in just 5 overs. Esme Ansley removed Hodgson as well as Ben Oakey without a further run being scored. Christian batted well in making 23 before he became 1 of Declan Hinchcliffe’s 3 wickets. Andy Ball chipped in with a wicket and from a strong position Harberton had slipped to 64-6. Stoke felt they were in with a chance but 17 runs from Joe Ray helped see Harberton home to a comfortable 4 wicket victory with 3 overs to spare.
